Our first Halloween was amazing
by confusedandalone innot sure if this is the right forum, if not i apologize.. last night was our first halloween.
i have to admit, the very idea that somehow it is satanic and that it makes bible god cry seemed immensely foolish as we prepared for it.
my daughter was dressed as an undead witch and my son was dressed as thomas the tank engine.

I am a little behind on the reading because we had 4 deaths of friends and relatives. I love all the fun everyone had It made me smile. CAA I am happy to hear you had as much fun as your children and that is exactly the way it should be.
Lisa Rose your husband and my husband would get along! Lol. He look great in the dress you have on in your profile picture.
My husband was a born in and was able as a child to go a couple of times but I went all the time as a child. I bought a bunch of candY bars i put into a basket and then loads of gum I put into another basket and a third basket with M&M and Reece pieces in another basket. I told all of the little kids to take a hand full out of each basket.
We sat out on our front porch and haded it out. The very first group was young kids and they were going to skip the house when one of the parents said aren't you going to their door and the kid said "no they don't celebrate"!! It really touched my heard and I said yes we celebrate. They came up and they were thrilled we gave them so much. I felt like the neighborhood grinch When I heard them say that. Next year I am going to do full size bars. We had over 100 come to the door. What a fun night!!

All those times Jehovah answered my prayers...
by Julia Orwell in...and granted me strength, friends, a job, whatever...was all either through my own effort alone or sheer luck.. i wanted a government job so i prayed for one and went out looking for one every day for ages and made a heap of applications...and got one.
my own effort.. i wanted a friend and prayed for one, crying myself to sleep with loneliness.....and after 6 months in the new congregation someone reached out to me.
chance.. i prayed to be able to stand up to my family when they put pressure on me about christmas etc...my own cult conditioning so strong.. i prayed to find a nice husband...luck when i moved congregations and one of those sisters who just has to match make introduced us.

I use to pray years ago and nothing happened so I stopped and I honestly feel that you make things happen by hard work and persistence. Our life is very stable right now and we are doing well financially but it is because we busted out butts to make it happen. i look at the JW's and with all of the praying they do their lives do not go well as a general rule.

The New Diary of Winston Smith
by WinstonSmith inwe had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.
fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.
i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.

Winston, I am looking forward to hearing the rest of your diary and I hope you can reach your mom and your sister. Please keep us updated on how it is going. I would not let too much time pass before you contact her again, you want her real personality to continue so she is open to the real truth. Best wishes to you.

Do You Still Wear "Meeting" Clothes?
by minimus ini have dozens of suits.
i still buy them .
i wear ties sometimes too.

Aunt Fancy
I have always loved to dress up and wear dresses but I have not had a dress on for 15 months until two weeks ago when I had a death in the family and I wore one to the funeral. I also have changed the way I dress, I wear colored jeans and blue jeans all the time now. When we left I went out and bought a new wardrobe because I wanted to start fresh.

NSA spying on Vatican! My JW parents are SOO EXCITED!
by BU2B init just came out yesterday that the nsa has spied on the vatican and pope francis.
when i went over my parents house yesterday, you could see the excitement, the energy in their eyes when they talked about it.
my dad even pumped his fist like he won something when he was talking about it.

I am so far behind on the site because we had 4 friends and family die within 7 days so I have been very busy. It sure puts a lot of things in perspective.
We can almost guaranty the jW's will be watched by the NSA So I am not sure why they are so excited about the Vatican being watched.
My hope is the the government starts to tax every religion. It sure would help in many areas.

It is good to hear an update. I am a mother and can not imagine doing those things to my son. He was never baptized and he did some stupid things as a teen but we stood by him so we would not lose him. I would never give him up because of the religion. I honestly feel your brother is very jealous of you. He may have all of these positions within the organization but you have a successful business, great wife and children. It amazes me how many JW's are jealous of the ones who are financially successful. They talk about them and tear them down behind their back.
i just celebrated my birthday and I was out of town and when I got home my hubby had my card on the table with some money in it and he hid a few gifts for me. It sure has been fun doing "normal" things!! I also had a nice amount of birthday cards sitting on my dresser to look at. It is exciting to do fun things and live life to the fullest!!
Keep us up to date and I wish you lots of happiness.

How Many Here Are On Facebook & How Often Do You Frequent The Site?
by minimus ini'm on it every couple of days and it's usually to see pics of my grandkids or to get the 411 onwhat's going on..

I am on it a couple of times a day. I deleted every JW from my page which has been very good for me. Since I lost every JW "friend" it has allowed me to reconnect with friends I lost contact with because of the religion. I need to make an alias account for exJW sites but not because I am worried about JW's but because I came in the religion in my late 20's and I don't want people from my past to know I was in a cult.

You said your primary care physician gave you these meds. I know many do prescribe them but with your history I would suggest you find a very good psycrytrist who specializes in pharmacy and get yourself regulated by someone other than a primary care doctor. They do not specialize in this and and you really need to have someone that really knows this field. They can also recommend a good therapist that specializes in your type of abuse. I have always believed that you should find the best doctor for whatever your situation is. Don't settle for a primary care doctor when you are dealing with such a serious situation.
Jgnant makes a good point. I would run and get as far away as you can from your abuser. There are so many options out there for women today, you don't have to take the abuse. Just because you have been severely abused as a child does not mean you have to live the rest of your life being abused. Take a stand for yourself and get out. Why live your life like this when there are other options out there. There are many women that have had terrible abuses done to them but they took control of their lives and got out. They are living very fulfilling lives and they are free. Unless you love drama and you get some sort of pleasure from all of the dram then get out. I know many people are comfortable in all of the turmoil and drama but it takes work to get out. It takes a lot of work and you have to be willing to change in order to get out.
